News that matters
Veridic is a news project about events that affect people’s everyday lives in Moldova. We aim to make complex topics understandable, help readers navigate the news and provide context rather than headlines alone.
The website covers politics, the economy, society, regions, Transnistria and international affairs, as well as investigations and opinion.
What matters to us
- Accuracy. Checking essential information before publication and correcting any errors discovered.
- Context. Explaining the causes of events, the consequences of decisions and different perspectives.
- Clear language. Covering important subjects without needless complexity or sensationalism.
- Respect for readers. Distinguishing news from analysis, opinion and advertising.
Our topics
Our focus includes social developments, government decisions, the economy, the quality of urban life, regional communities, culture and events abroad. We strive to explain not only what happened but why it matters.
Good news reporting explains an event. Good journalism helps us understand why it matters.
